Let us start by saying “Thank you.” Thank you to everybody who made this possible. That’s not just the folks in the liner notes either. Everybody who has come to a show, bought a shirt or just told a friend about us was just as integral to this album happening. Your support and infinite patience allowed us to take our time and really work to make this record sound as close as possible to what we hear in our heads. None of us have ever been in a band that was in a position to expend the kind of time, effort and resources on an album that you all have provided for Long Division. We can’t thank you enough for that.
That brings us to the release party at the Boot. This was an absolute blast. The boot was at capacity and then some (This would have been a lot cooler if people didn’t get turned away). Yesper played a great set. The crowd was awesome. There was lots of dancing and screaming and people offering to have CJ’s babies. It was the most fun we’ve ever had playing a set with the exception of a couple choice house shows. Our friend Tyler Yowell kept the party rolling afterward and we managed to move a highly satisfactory amount of CDs and shirts. More importantly we were surrounded by new and old friends and everybody seemed to be having a fantastic time. We couldn’t be more pleased with how it went. Unless somebody could have bribed the Fire Marshall.
Stay tuned, we should have some pictures and hopefully some video up in the next couple of days. Other than that, we’re back in action at the Jewish Mother with Augustine on May 21st. This may be one of the last shows they have there so check it out. Then we return to Norfolk June 13th to wrap up our mini-tour with Autocue and Seas. Hope to see you out there!
Sincerely,
Long Division
